What version NAV are you running ? can you explain in detail what are you planning to do. If you are applying cumulative updates for NAV 2013 and up there are detail instructions how to apply this, if you applying a hotfix for NAV 2009 version then for application version you just need to copy the respective application files from the hotfix to the installation folder.
