I want to know that how a workflow flows in the system.Which method is executed first.
I have gone through many link but wam failing to understand.

There is already quite some options to dynamically decide the approver. But 'originator selecting approver' is not common.
In the workflow configuration, look at the options for setting up an approver. (hierarchy, condition based, etc..
Alternately, add a new field which holds the approver. (originator can set this field before submitting to workflow)
Try if you can use the user from this new field as the approver. (You may Need some conditional flow.)
