Question in the title -- the team assigned would also depend on the user. I know it can be done with JavaScript, so I wondering if there is a setting somewhere where a user can choose which team they are a part of can be the default owner for new records. We are using Dynamics 365 CRM Online.
Any additional info, please let me know.

So far, using JS,plug-in or custom workflow to set the default owner to team is a suitable way. There's no other ways for configuration to get this requirement now except assigning records to teams manually after the records have been created.
I also tried Microsoft AutomateF(Flow) and I did not find something here. If you want to use Automate, you could also ask this in Automate forum for more professional help.
