Problem overriding document number when transferring quote to order

I have all of my sales document types set up to allow "override document numbers".

However, when I go to transfer a Quote to and Order it creates the order and automatically pre-fills the document number. The box is grayed out and doesn't allow me to change or override the order document number. Is there a setting or something I'm missing to be able to do that?

You can only override the document number when you're manually created the transactions; when the transaction is transferred the doc number is set by the system and cannot be overridden,

    Hi Nikkig,

Ian is right (no surprise there), but I wanted to add that you can override the Document ID and Batch Number if you want. Many folks I've worked with did not know this, so I thought I'd add this info.

To access the window where you can change the Batch, Doc ID, and add a GL reference, click on the blue arrow next to the Document No. field. See the picture below:

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
