I have a custom entity Subscription.

I have another custom entity Renewals.

There is a 1:1 ratio between Subscription and Renewals.

When I create a new Renewal record, I pick a Subscription using a lookup field.

When I open the related Subscription, I want to see a link to the Renewal already populated. The way the business process works is that renewals come up every 1-3 years and tie to a subscription. You wouldn't select populate a Renewal from the Subscription. Until the Subscription is selected from within the Renewal, there is no tie to the two records yet so I don't believe I can use the Quick View Form solution. I believe the Quick View form is used when you already have a connection between two records and you want to show another field value.

Will,

You can use mapping to copy data from Renewal to subscription when the record is created.

But can you clarify your specific question? I cannot tell what you are asking.
