D365FFO custom data entities

Hi All,

I have a custom model, and I need to create a custom data entity for tables inside this model, I followed the guide https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/data-entities/build-consuming-data-entities

I created a new project in my new model , and created the data entities inside it, but when I browse the [baseURL]/data/$metadata I can not see my new data entity, is there anything more needed ?

Thank you,

    Hi Mohammad,

Did you build your solution and performed a database sync?

Also, try to refresh the Entity list from the Data import export framework parameters.

    Thank you Andre,

yes I have build and synched my solution, we browsed https://[baseURI\]/Metadata/DataEntities, and found our custom entity in the json file , but when we browse [baseURL]/data/$metadata we can not find it.

    Thank you

    Hi Mohammad,

Did you mark your entity as public (IsPublic property on entity level)?

    Hi Sergey,

yes I have, but still it doesn't show in the url [baseURL]/data/$metadata, however it is shown in the json file returned by https://[baseURI\]/Metadata/DataEntities, does this json file means that the data entity is ready to be used ?

    Thank you,

    Hi,

json file retuned by https://[baseURI\]/Metadata/DataEntities has our custom Data entity, but the https://[baseURI\]/data does not return it.

    "Name":"RecruitmentCycleDataEntity","PublicEntityName":"CycleData","PublicCollectionName":"CycleDatas","LabelId":"Recruitment Cycle Entity","DataServiceEnabled":true,"DataManagementEnabled":true,"EntityCategory":"Master","IsReadOnly":false

    Hi Mohammad,

At least the response looks fine for me. Are you using a browser to get OData metadata?

Have you tried to get data already from the entity? (http://[baseURI\]/data/CycleDatas?cross-company=true)

Have tried to run a full DB sync already?

    BR, Sergey

You should be able to use your entity as it's available on the endpoint url/metadata/dataentities.
