Is it possible to request token authentication outside D365 on premise?

Hello,
i am having a situation where a third party apps(resides in cloud) needed to call D365fo on premise API
is this case possible by publicly expose the ADFS and the D365fo base URL?
any other URL that needed to be exposed or any other setup like installing D365 certs?
