Restrict the form Control visibility based on Security role in D365 F&O

Hi All,

I am working on D365 F&O.

I need to make the Form control visibility based on User Security role \ Privilege. Can you please guide me how can we achieve this.

Hi Satish.,

Go to your form-> control-> Properties-> Needed Permission. Set this property to manual. (If not set, or you can change it in form extensions also).

Create a new Security Privilege -> Form Control Permissions-> Right click and select New Form -> Select your form in the drop down.

On the newly added form -> right click and select New Control -> open New Control Properties, under Name drop down you were able to see the control. select the control and Set the permission under Grant.

if this control related to a field ,

you can manage security easy as the below link

if not related to a field, you must use Need permission property as Raghu mention

Thank you Raghu and all, for your help.

I have done as per Raghu's suggestion. Mine is a unbound control with Boolean type.

I have extended the standard object and changed the NeedPermission to Manual and created a new privilege and set the control Grant property as NoAccess. But this is throwing an error as below.

[AxSecurityPrivilege/BHSVendorSearchRestriction/VendSearchCriterion/Controls/EmployeeThatAreVendors/Name]:The NeededPermission property of the 'EmployeeThatAreVendors' control in 'VendSearchCriterion' form is set to 'None'. INC16186_2019 (CUS) [BHGSuite]K:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectory\BHGSuite\BHGSuite\AxSecurityPrivilege\BHSVendorSearchRestriction.xml'

But I tried this with Newly created control in Extended object, it is working. But not working on standard control.

Can you please help me.

Maybe it's a bug.

Based on feedback from others, updates will be made in PU29.

Hi Satish.,

Can you mention in which platform update you are.

If you are using platform update less than 29., issue exists.

As mentioned by Blue Wang there is a bug which was fixed in PU29. bug is community.dynamics.com/.../312011

Please find the below link,as Microsoft has provided some temporary script, for a issue which is similar.
