Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Archived)

NAV 2016 getting warning "The server "net.tcp://jessie-pc.ecadvance.om:7046/dynamicsnav90/Service" is either unavailable or your connection has been lost. Do you want to attempt to reconnect" all the time.

Hi,

      I'm using NAV 2016. After I did SMTP Mail Setup-->Test Email Setup, then I have warning "The server "net.tcp://jessie-pc.ecadvance.om:7046/dynamicsnav90/Service" is either unavailable or your connection has been lost. Do you want to attempt to reconnect" pop up almost all the time. Each time I have to click on 'Yes' to continue.

       My SMTP server has to use Office 365 server. For it to work, I commented out below code in the codeunit 397 as some article suggested.

//AddAddressToCollection('AD',GetActiveDirectoryMailFromUser,TempNameValueBuffer);

          Currently when the warning pops up, I see below errors in the event log:

           Any ideas on how to fix this?

    I uninstalled and reinstalled all the NAV components and that warning never pops up again. So it's related to that code change of comment out //AddAddressToCollection('AD',GetActiveDirectoryMailFromUser,TempNameValueBuffer) in codeunit 397 and test email setup in the SMTP email setup.

    I tried that. Then error message poped up and asked me to put in a secure port when I test email setup.

    Try SMTP Mail Server Port :587

    Thanks for the reply. But I don't think the issue is with my SMTP setup. I think when I did "Test Email Setup" when I set up the Office 365 SMTP server, it made my NAV service corrupted, that could be why it keeps on giving me the warning. Maybe I should repair NAV service.

    Hi,

    You can first test your SMTP setup with your Gmail account. If it works then the problem might be with your Firewall.

    Make sure that you have setup Authentication, User ID and Password are correctly.
