Bug/Problem creating purchase invoices using web service - CAN version (Financials Data Services attempted to issue a client callback to show a confirmation dialog box:Do you want to update the exchange rate?(Table 38 Purchase Header))

Hi,

I'm trying to create a Purchase invoices using the web service (Object ID "51"). But doesn't matter what I do I always get this message: "Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Financials Data Services attempted to issue a client callback to show a confirmation dialog box: Do you want to update the exchange rate? (Table 38 Purchase Header). Client callbacks are not supported on Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Financials Data Services".

What I already tried:

- Remove currency information from the invoice

- Add exchange rate for that date

- Remove all items

- Using minimum required information in the invoice

- Create a new vendors with minimum required information (US dollars and CAN)

I also checked the solution for NAV, because mostly of the time is quite similar. However on dynamics 365 for business we don't have access to the triggers like in NAV. So no luck here.

    Hello,

Have you setup or changed your currencies in any way?  Here is someone else who had the same problem and was able to resolve.

    Hi Chris,

Yes. Initially I set up the USD and CAD currencies. But following the instructions you suggested I was able to solve the problem for my local currency(CAD) only. However I still receiving the message for any US vendor.

As I understand I need to define a currency in the currencies and specify it into the vendor in order to set a payment or purchase invoice in USD.

Is that correct? Or exists another way to do it? Something like setup the currency by country and do not specify in the vendor itself.

    Best,

    Alex

No, I believe that is correct.  I'm wondering, if you go in and manually try to create a Purchase Invoice for this vendor do you get a message asking you the same thing at any point?  If you want to update the exchange rate?

    Thanks,
    Chris

Yes I do receive the same message for any US vendor after I change the Posting Date to any date in the past for example 2017-10-02.

    Hello,

I can't figure out how to reproduce this issue in a new company or in CRONUS.  Since you can reproduce the error within the Application I would say to open a support case so we can investigate further.  We can definitely try to figure out why that message is occurring when you attempt to do an Invoice through the GUI... which should lead you to a code solution hopefully.

    Thanks,

    Chris

    Hi Chris,

    First, Thanks for the assistance.

I was able to reproduce it in CRONUS.

    The steps are:

1- Create a new vendor using a foreign currency (I'm in CAN version, so I set currency code to USD. )

2- Create a purchase invoice using the just created vendor.

3- Change the posting date of the purchase invoice to 2017-10-02, once the focus change from the posting date the message will pop up.

I found a workaround. When using the GUI, I will test in the API and I will let you know.

1- Create the purchase invoice for the foreign vendor

    2- Remove the currency code

3- Change the posting date (no popup here)

4- Add the currency code back (it will give an error if you do not have a exchange rate for that day, but that is expected)

5- Add the lines you want.

I think that will solve my problem for now.

    Edit on 06-11-2017

The workaround worked on the API too.

I hope it get fixed in the next update.

    Best,

    Alex
