Posting in Production (Live)

Hi:

A company has not gone live, yet.  But, an end user posted a purchase invoice, printed a check for it, and posted the check.

This all should have been done in the sandbox and not in a production company.

Do we need to contact Microsoft to restore a backup?

If not, what's the best way to "reverse" this?

Thanks!

John

    Hi John

You can restore production environment on BC admin center by yourself.
Restored environment is different environment from original environment. So delete original environment and then change restored environment name to original environment name.

Thanks.  But, that doesn't "get rid of" or reverse the bogus transactions.

I cannot "blow away" a company or environment altogether.  It has setups that we cannot lose.

Hi, Can't solve the problem if you restore the environment to the day before posting?

If you also imported Open Balance and other data on the same day, I hope you have a backup company in the production environment.

    Hope this will help.

    Thanks.

Going under the presumption that there is no backup to restore, what steps can be taken from an accounting standpoint in terms of "reversing the transactions"?

As my understanding, you have now posted an purchase invoice, a check, and applied the check to this invoice?

    So hope the following helps

    1. Unapply Entries

    2. Recreate a negative check to cancel the original.

    3. Use Cancel feature in Posted Purchase Invoice page to cancel the mistake purchase invoice.

    Hope this will help.

    Thanks.
