Upgrade GP 10.0.1727 to GP 2010

Posted on by 100

I'm attempting to upgrade GP 10.0.1727 to GP 2010 on a test server.  I installed the executables along with the most recent service pack (KB2502038) on a test machine.  When I launch GP Utilities, it indicates that upgrade is not possible and exits.  I'm getting the following message in the DUINSTALL.log file:

Failure encountered ON 4/18/2011 at 11:48:42 AM.  Error:  Product 0 does not support upgrading from version 10.0.1727.

The documentation indicates that this is a supported upgrade path but I've been unsuccesful so far.

The KB2502038 update is for a GP10 patch, not GP2010.

We are on MSSQL 2008 R2 and it is currently running GP10.

I can try the upgrade with just SP1.

What version of MSSQL are you on?

Have you upgraded to this version of SQL with GP version 10? or did you upgrade as part of he GP2010 upgrade?

Product 0 is GP - and version 1727 is the last version (US Payroll round 4)

949 is Field Service - version 1711 is also the latest.

6499 is On Line Service - version is latest.

So, your version 10 install looks fine from a produc version point of view.

To help debug, I would install GP2010 with SP1 only and see can I run utilities.
