Report in Nav 2015 vs report in Nav v5

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello,

We are updating our ERP from Dynamics Nav v5 to Dynamics Nav 2015.

Currently, in the v5 version, in a report (invoice for example) the total amount appear in a tab at the bottom of the last page (with others vta informations).

Our provider tells us that in Dynamics 2015, it will no be possible. In the new report, total amount and others, will be immediatly after the tab of the invoice line.

We are disppointed that the new version provide less flexibility.

Any ideas ?

Regards.

It is very much Possible. With latest version, you have more flexibility with reports then earlier versions,  however you need RDLC Reporting expert for such reporting design.

It is bit different then traditional NAV 5, however it is certainly possible to have the Total Amount at bottom of the report. One has to use the right section (Footer), to print the total at bottom. Almost all our customer has similar requirement and has been delivered by us.

There are certainly options to have the total amount at the place where you want it to be. RDLC reports have few limitations, but so far I do not see such issues you present (if I understood you correctly). E.g., refer to this: blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/.../
