Using how can I hide/display a linkset for specific web role?

Do you mean a weblinkset?
If the target web page is not available to the specific web role, then the weblink will not render to that user.
E.g. You have a web page called "members only" that is only accessible by a webrole called "members"
You create a weblink called "member page"
That weblink will not appear until a user with the members webrole logs in.
Does that make sense?
