We are running to an issue with Picking for Warehouse Shipments.
1. We enter all items on orders as eaches.
2. When the quantity to be picked is less than a Case unit of measure, we want to pick from our Pick zone.
3. When the quantity to be picked is a whole number multiple, we would like the system to pick a Case out of the Back-Stock zone.
For example: Item 1111 has an Each UOM of 1 and a Case UOM of 12 eaches.
Order 10 eaches of Item 1111. System would pick from PIck zone.
Order of 12 eaches of item 1111. System would pick from Back Stock zone (in Cases).
Bonus question. Spitting a line to Case + Eaches
Example: Order of 14 eaches of item 1111. Would pick 2 eaches of item 1111 from Pick Zone, and one Case (12 eaches) from Back Stock zone.
Our current system does this with two settings. 1. Our current system does not Break Bulk unless the Picking zone is at zero inventory for that item. 2. There is a limit of amount that can be picked from a Picking zone location. For example, on location P-01-0001 for Item 1111 they system will not pick more than 11 eaches. Over 11 eaches and it will pick from the Back-Stock zone.
We are working on a conversion from our current IBM ERP system to Dynamics, and this a sticking point for us.
