How the count of Open/Closed Tasks or Open/Closed Sub Cases.

Posted on by 9

I have two requirements,

1. "2 of 3 Tasks Closed"

2. "3 of 4 Sub Cases Closed"

I assume I need to do some kind of roll up field, but I have had no luck even getting the total count, then to format it as I showed above I want would need a custom field that concatenates the data in with the metrics? Here is what I tried to to get the total count, it has not calculated right but I am not sure if I need the hierarchy field to do it right?

    Hi Weldarb,

You could create the following rollup fields.

     1. For getting the count of open tasks.

     2. For getting the count of closed tasks.

     3. For getting the count of open subcases.

     4. For getting the count of closed subcases.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Wal,

I'm pretty sure you need to filter related entities over the "Parent Case" field (not existing case):

As for the formatting - you should probably just have 2 rollup fields instead (total and closed). I don't think formatting is possible in the rollup fields, and, since you can't start a workflow..

In theory, you could add javascript to format them on the form when the form opens, but, then, they won't be formatted in the views till the form opens, so..
