Trial Balance Account Number Ordering.

We recently did a test upgrade for a customer of ours from NAV 3.7W1 to NAV 2015W1.    When we print the trial balance in NAV 3.7 it is printing with the ideal account number ordering as below:
1000

1002

1030

1040

.....

10100

10200

10300

However after we did a test upgrade and we try to print the Trial balance the account numbers come out ordered in a funny way as bellow:

1000

1002

10100

10200

1030

10300

1040

What setting does one need to change so that the account numbers appear in the correct order as in NAV3.7 setting.

Thanks in advance to those who will assist.

    Hi Chamu Matumbura,

You have to check again the begin total and end total for the range of these accounts from 1000 to 1990.

Do let me know if this solution help you resolve your issue, by click yes to Verify the answer.

    Thanks

Thank you for your response.  Yes in 3.7W1 we were using the internal database engine.

I will check on option 2 and attempt to find the missing account.

    Hi Chamu,

there are 2 problems you're facing:

    1. The sorting. In 3.7W1 you have probably used NAV internal Database engine which sorted strings in certain way. However now SQL sorts it differently and that is why you're getting that specific kind of sorting. I don't think you can do much though, apart from re-numbering your Chart of accounts.

    2. The error you get on indentation means that the number of Begin-Totals doesn't match the number of End-Totals. NAV assumes it is for No.1990, but it most likely it isn't. It's a tedious task to find the missing one, and the quickest way is to copy COA to excel and match begin-totals with end-totals to find the missing one.

    HEllo Alex,

Thanks for your question and your willingness to help.  The account setup for the beginning total is as shown below.  I don't know if there is any error in the setup.

Sorry for asking, but does Begin-Total account really has begin-total account type? And, what number does it have?

    Hello Ahmed,

Thanks for your response.  When I try to do the indenting I am getting the following error message:

I checked the Begin- Total account and it is there.  Not sure why I am getting this error message.

Try to Indent the Chart of accounts again in the newer version.
