Hello,

The problem consists in the following:
Have the 4 products. The products have properties. On the Order, when you add a Product, I have to manually add Properties: Phone model and Color. The Properties of the Order Product is different .

Making import I add an Orders and Order Products, becouse there is many data.
The problem is that there is many Orders to import, and Order Product too. Adding Properties for 2000 Order Products manually is not an option.

How to import Order Products to Order together with the Properties of the Product?
Or how to import the Product Properties to Order where are the Products?

Import has this kind of functionality: blogs.msdn.com/.../crm-2011-data-import-wizard-importing-related-accounts-and-contacts.aspx

    Hello Deepesh!

I would be very grateful if You help me to implement your solution in my example.

Which entity I need to choose to import Product Properties to Order Product?

The Product Properties already exist in CRM: Phone model and Color. I must during import  Order Product link the some property(Exp- Phone model: HTC, Color: Red) with this Order Product

As far as I know you cannot import DynamicPropertyInstance records using the standard data import. You can use the configuration data migration tool but that would rely on the data being in CRM first unless you want to hand build the xml file it expects.

The SDK says "A property instance (dynamic property instance) record gets automatically created for a product or bundle when you add the product or bundle to an opportunity, quote, order, or invoice, and is automatically deleted when the product or bundle is removed from an opportunity, quote, order, or invoice. Therefore, it’s not recommended to manually create or delete property instance (dynamic property instance) records for a product or bundle."

I would suggest that you create a custom import program using c# and make a call to the UpdateProductProperties request to add the values of the automatically created properties - see msdn.microsoft.com/.../microsoft.crm.sdk.messages.updateproductpropertiesrequest_properties.aspx

    Hope this helps,

    Scott

RE: How to import the Product Properties?

    Hi Scott,

Do you know if there is a way to display the properties of an opportunity or order product in a sub-grid?  We want to utilize the properties but then we don't want the next person in the workflow to have to click on each product to get those properties.  If a subgrid won't work, how about some sort of on-demand report/workflow? Thank you
