I've used page extensions to change display name of fields with code such as below:

modify("External Document No")
{
Caption = 'External Document No - Reference No.';
}
}
}
Now I have two questions.
Is there a way to change caption in all references to this feild without publishing page extensions to each page (for example uposted and posted pages). Also when you are adding fields to UI using personalise, users see the base app field name instead of the new caption.
The second question is, Are there any impact on future upgrades etc when we change caption on a page level. I've read somewhere else that its not recommended to change using table extension but page extension is safe
