Unit of Leave and Absence (Days/Hours)

Posted on by 35

If we set up “Unit for leave and absence ” as "Days" in leave and absence parameters, do we need to capture time From and To time in the calendar?

Will there be any impact of From and To time for leaves as a unit of "Days" type?

    Hi Vikas,

Unit of Leave and Absence depends on the below factor.

If you define Unit as Hours or Days

    1. It will have defaulted from Calendar.

    2. If there is no Calendar defined then the user has to type the value. For example, if the unit is days then 0.5 or 1.0

Based on the above criteria, it will capture the amount in Leave accrual and Leave request.

    Hi Alice,

My question was not regarding any issue in the leave function, but I had a doubt if a company has leave type with the unit as "Days", do we need to configure the from and to time.

If a leave is the "Days" type then it will be either a full day or a half-day. there will not be any time required.

so if we don't capture any from and to time in leave of "days" type, will there be any issue during accrual or request?

    Regards,

    Vikas

Hi Vikas, I am sorry for my late reply. Yes, I did troubleshoot the issue, but it is not clear to me if you need to capture it. Is there a particular reason for why you do not want to enter the From and To time in the calendar?

I also tested to see if there is any difference in having the time From and To time in the calendar but I could not see any. However, I assume when selecting the half-day it would need to have the Time from and To time in order to calculate the half-day. But I need to get that confirmed.

Due to Christmas and New Year holidays, I do not expect to get any feedback until the new year.

    Happy Holidays!

    Best regards,

    Hi Alice,

Were you able to find the impact of from/to time for "Days" type leave?
