vendor/customer cards

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

currently not all of the address lines on our vendor/customer cards will show up on our checks/invoices. there are about 3 lines in the cards but only the first 2 lines will print out on a check or invoice. is it possible to have all the address line print out? can contacts also be pulled in?

Thank you for the help. We have a company we use for Dynamics consulting, so i will put in a request for these items . As far as report writer goes though, where can i get training? I would hate to have to keep resorting to paying to have things like this done. is there any material on the e-learning that you would consider to be sufficient? or is more training needed?

Leslie, I would not say "I can responding continuously to this forum until your age". But, you are very genius. We need more response from you for so so so many years. I would like to be reach your position with your blessings. Have a nice day:)

I believe every day you are not getting older, getting younger.

    Hi Soma,

Oops, you are right. I'm so used to seeing your name I just had you in my head tonight. It was Mahmoud's response I was referring to. Thanks for clearing me up, I'll be more careful - perhaps it's too late for this old woman to be up trying to answer questions :)

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

Leslie, may I know the response("Soma's instructions will definitely get you started, but it is not what you need." )in your previous post. I think, no instructions posted by me for this question.

    Hi,

I think Frank gives you good advice. Soma's instructions will definitely get you started, but it is not what you need. You will need to create a calculated field with a User-Defined function in order to get the address block to appear correctly. If you hire someone who knows how to do it, it's no big deal, if it's the first time you've used Report Writer, it's a very big deal.

You will want your address block to grow and shrink depending on how many lines of address are actually recorded on the address card. If you pull the fields directly from the address master file, you'll get blank lines if there's no data.  Also, the address lines currently being used are themselves calculated fields. If you've only got address lines one and three filled out, you could end up with your City, State, Zip before address line three. Each of the existing calculated fields will need to be modified to complete the address block correctly.

There is a good KB article on creating the address block, but like Frank, I do not think it's for the novice.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

LATEMP, I would suggest if you've never used Report Writer, hire someone who has the requisite skills.  It is not the easiest or most intuitive tool to use.  The learning curve for Report Writer is steep for a novice.

    Hope this helps,

I was looking for a short and yet comprehensive reference for you to consider. Still, you can check out the Report Writer documentation Report Writer User’s Guide Release 10
