Hello,

everything worked fine but now there is no update of changed objects after starting debugging on my devoloping maschine running WIN 10. What am I missing? After a complete reboot it works one time.

Thanks a lot for any help.

Can you clarify your question please? Your problem is related to extension's deployment (schemaUpdateMode)? If so, what type of mode you're using? All is working correctly with the platforms you mention. Please give us more details.

    Hello,

    thanks for the fast answer.

I am developping an extension in Visual Studio Code. Till now I'm changing objects and restart the debugging to test the changes. The changed objects are in place. This Process takes a while but it worked with no issues. Now when I restart the debugging for example after a page change the Web Client starts almost immediately but the changes are not there. Visual Studio shows the normal messages in the output window.  SchemaUpdateMode = Recreate deletes the data but shows no effect on the objects. Download symbols works as expected.

I have to manually deinstall and remove the extension in the web client. After this the process works normal. BC 1.40 on premise with no changes and no CUs installed.

This happens after Update to Visual Studio 1.38.1 - maybe coincidence.

    Regards

    Chris

There are no issues related to VS Code version and schemaUpdateMode = Recreate. Recreate forces a data deletion and a recreation of the database schema, if the extension is successfully deployed your database is updated. Recreate must be used if you perform breaking changes in the database schema (for example change of data type or removing fields).

I suggest to check if after pressing F5 from VS Code, in Extension Management your extension is correctly installed.

ok understood - just tried ;)

I changed one page object and started debugging with F5:

Old object is shown in Web Client.

The app file isn't updated and the old app is deployed. This explains why it is happening so fast.

Have you compiled the app (CTRL+SHIFT+B) before deploying?

No it was not necessary till now ;)

    Works thank you very much.

    One last question:

I compiled the app (CTRL+SHIFT+B). Then I started F5 - nothing happens. Did it again and it worked. Is this normal?

Again thanks alot for your help!

    Regards Chris
