Posts, Activities and Notes in Leads - missing section

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi There, Wondering if anyone can assist me with this.  I added some custom fields to my Lead section but inadvertently hide the activity section. This is what it look like now.

When I go to customize the lead form, I do see the notes property section.

Can anyone advise what I have done wrong and what I can do to correct it?

Regards,

Bill

Hi Sachith, I can't take the notes out as they are locked, so in the lead form layout it shows the social pane with the properties tab, but still when I go to the lead it shows nothing, it's blank.  Any suggestions?

I see three active forms: Lead, Information and Lead Quick Create.  I am selecting Lead, the default lead form. When I added the custom fields, as mentioned earlier, I must of somehow hidden or removed the social pane even thought it shows in the form as being there.  It was there before, we have always added activities and notes to the lead, we just can’t now.

Strange question maybe.. Are you looking at the same form - are there multiple forms? (when opening the record, is it also the "Lead" form there?)

Thanks for all your help everyone. I am now clicking the social pane and it shows 'visible' but not seeing thing.  I am clearly missing something, just not sure what it is. Any thoughts?

    Hi Billy,

check section properties, not the activities tab properties - double click on that "social pane"  header (not on the notes control)

    Hi Billy,

If you take out the notes properties section out of the social pane tab does it show the social pane?

I see you were talking about the field properties and I was talking about the tab properties.  Any ideas on how I can get the hidden activity tab showing?

    Regards,

    Bill

Thanks.  For some reason, I do not have that option when I to to properties.

The opportunity activity layout is fine and when I check that form everything is the same as the lead form except the layout is two columns vs. one column on the lead. However, when change, save and publish this,  it keeps defaulting back to one column; although this might have nothing to do this the activities not showing, it is just the only thing I noticed as being different.

    Any other thoughts?

I will not be able to confirm what exactly you might have done. but one possible option you can check is if you have hidden the section default visibility. Make sure the visible by default check box is checked.
