Hi Dynamics Community,

Microsoft continues to expand AI capabilities across Dynamics 365, from Copilot assistance to intelligent insights and automation, and it's being widely used by organizations around the globe. From our experience, it benefits streamlining workflows and is significantly reducing manual effort.

Might be some of you having valuable insights to share along with AI adoption,

  • Which Dynamics AI capabilities have you used and seeing of the most value?
  • Have they improved productivity or customer experience?
  • What challenges have you encountered when adopting it?
  • Where do you see the biggest opportunities going forward?

Would be great to communicate your experiences and thoughts!

    Hi,

Maybe you can clarify your questions please? When you ask about Dynamics AI capabilities, are you referring to available agents, creating own AI scenarios, or both?
Can you tell us what Dynamics 365 application this question is related to? There are several different solutions in the Dynamics 365 family, like: Sales, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Project Operations, and Customer Insights.

    Thanks for raising that point!

Our intention was to open a broader discussion rather than focus on a single application or use case. Whether you've worked with built-in AI capabilities or custom AI scenarios, it would be interesting to see how experiences differ across Dynamics 365 applications. Some AI capabilities are likely to deliver greater value in certain workloads, while others may present unique adoption or implementation challenges.

    Hello,

    1. Which Dynamics AI capabilities have you used and seen the most value from?
The AI capabilities that have delivered the most value for me are:
    • Dynamics 365 Copilot for Sales (email drafting, meeting summaries, opportunity insights)
    • Customer Service Copilot (case summaries, knowledge article suggestions, response generation)
    • Customer Insights – Journeys (AI-assisted content creation, segment creation, journey optimization)
    • Copilot Studio integrated with Dynamics 365 for self-service and employee productivity scenarios
Among these, case summarization, email generation, and conversational AI have provided the fastest and most measurable business value.

    2. Have they improved productivity or customer experience?
    From a productivity perspective:
    • Sellers spend less time writing emails and updating CRM records.
    • Customer service agents can understand cases much faster through AI-generated summaries.
    • Marketing teams can create content and campaigns more quickly.
    • Business users gain easier access to data through natural language interactions.
    From a customer experience perspective:
    • Faster response times.
    • More personalized communications.
    • Improved self-service through AI-powered virtual agents.
    • Better consistency in customer interactions.
The biggest gains often come from reducing repetitive administrative work, allowing employees to focus on customer engagement and decision-making.

    3. What challenges have you encountered when adopting it?
The biggest challenges are typically not technical—they are organizational.
    Common challenges include:
    • Data quality issues in CRM.
    • Lack of governance around AI usage.
    • Unrealistic expectations that AI will solve process problems automatically.
    • User adoption and change management.
    • Security and compliance concerns.
    • Difficulty measuring ROI during the early stages.
I've seen organizations achieve the best results when they start with specific use cases rather than attempting a broad AI rollout from day one.

    4. Where do you see the biggest opportunities going forward?
    I see enormous opportunities in:
    • Autonomous and semi-autonomous agents that can execute business processes.
    • AI-driven customer service operations.
    • Sales coaching and opportunity management.
    • Personalized marketing at scale.
    • Knowledge management and employee assistance.
    • Cross-system orchestration using Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and Copilot Studio.
The next evolution is moving beyond AI-generated content toward AI-powered actions, where agents not only recommend what to do but also execute approved business processes across CRM, ERP, collaboration tools, and external systems.
Overall, I believe we're only at the beginning of AI adoption in Dynamics 365. Organizations that combine strong governance, quality data, and clearly defined business outcomes will realize the greatest value over the next few years.

From what I’ve seen, Copilot has been one of the more useful AI capabilities in Dynamics 365, especially for reducing time spent on repetitive tasks and finding information quickly.

The productivity improvement is noticeable when AI is used for things like summarizing information, drafting responses, and helping users work with data. The main challenges are still around data quality, user adoption, and making sure people understand what AI can and cannot do.

I think the bigger opportunity is going beyond individual AI features and using them to automate complete workflows while still keeping people involved where judgment is needed.
