Approvals - Webpage cannot be displayed

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

When in Business Portal, we select Executive Line Item Approvals, change the dropdown box to Project Mgr and select that person.  Below we select an expense item and click Save.  A dialog box appears stating " You have accepted 1 records and rejected 0 records.  Click OK to continue or Cancel to stop.  When we select OK, we get a Website cannot be display the page (http 500) error.  This is inside the SharePoint site and if I select Refresh the page, I am back to where I started and the expense is still there.  This was working previously and no updates were done on the server and not errors in the SharePoint log or Events Viewer.

Any ideas where else to look?

    Hi Bill Fry,

I would run a SQL Profiler trace.  Use the instructions and recommended templates that you can find in the Knowledge Base.  For SQL Server 2008/2008 R2, see KB 967955.

This could be caused by any number of things.

    - permissions (run bfgroup script)

    - problem with communicator trigger

    - custom trigger/custom who knows what

Also try a different user, or different workstations, different version of IE, different document, etc... to try and narrow down the cause.

Let me know what you find.
