**Sales Professional & Field Service Apps Installation Issue in Power Platform admin center

Hello ,

I need your help with setting up Dynamics 365 Business Central + Dataverse + Dynamics 365 Sales Professional / Field Service.

I have an existing Dataverse environment:

The Holistic Lab FZLLC (default)
URL: https://org52bc204d.crm15.dynamics.com

This is the only environment available to me, and it is already connected to Business Central. I need to install Dynamics 365 Sales Professional on this environment.

What I have done so far

1. Business Central – Dataverse connection

In Business Central, I opened:

Assisted Setup → Set up a connection to Dataverse

I enabled:

  • Enable data synchronization

  • Enable virtual tables and events

I accepted the terms and conditions.

2. Selected the Dataverse environment

The Dataverse environment list showed:

The Holistic Lab FZLLC (default)
https://org52bc204d.crm15.dynamics.com

I selected this environment.

3. Administrator authentication

I signed in using the administrator account:

Erp@fmsuae.onmicrosoft.com

The connection was accepted successfully.

4. Ownership model

I selected:

Team

and continued with the setup.

5. Currency issue

Business Central uses JOD as the local currency.

The setup initially returned:

Your local currency code JOD does not match any ISO Currency Code in the Dataverse currency table.

I therefore created JOD – Jordanian Dinar in Dataverse.

The currency was created successfully with:

  • Currency Code: JOD

  • Exchange Rate: 1.00000000000

  • Currency Precision: 3

After that, the Dataverse connection setup continued successfully.

6. Business Central Virtual Table application

The setup required the:

Business Central Virtual Table

application.

I installed the Microsoft application from Marketplace and selected:

The Holistic Lab FZLLC (default)

After refreshing the setup, the application was detected successfully.

7. Synchronization

I completed the Dataverse synchronization.

The Dataverse Full Synch. Review showed successful synchronization for the relevant tables, including:

  • CONTACT

  • CURRENCY

  • CUSTOMER

  • PAYMENT TERMS

  • SHIPMENT METHOD

  • VENDOR

The Integration Table Mappings were also created successfully.

So, at this point, the Business Central ↔ Dataverse connection is working successfully.

8. Installing Dynamics 365 Sales Professional

In Power Platform admin center → Dynamics 365 apps, I found:

Dynamics 365 for Sales, Professional

The application status was:

Enabled

I selected Install, accepted the Terms of Service, and started the installation.

I received:

Dynamics 365 for Sales, Professional installation started at 12:23 pm, 9/30/2026 by FMS Admin.

However, the behavior is strange.

The application appears temporarily as:

Installing...

Then, after refreshing the page, it disappears completely.

It does not become:

Installed

and there is no clear installation error shown.

I tried the installation more than once, with the same behavior.

9. Dynamics 365 Field Service

I also tried to install:

Dynamics 365 for Field Service

but the installation failed.

The error was:

FieldService_Anchor
NotProvided
Installing Field Service on CDS instance is not supported.

Error code:

-2146233088

The installation status was:

Installation failed

10. Important limitation

I understand that creating a new Sandbox environment with Dataverse and Enable Dynamics 365 apps = Yes would normally be an option.

I tried to create one with:

  • Type: Sandbox

  • Region: United Arab Emirates

  • Dataverse: Yes

  • Currency: JOD

  • Security Group: None

  • Enable Dynamics 365 apps: Yes

  • Automatically deploy apps: None

However, environment creation failed with:

This environment can't be created because your org (tenant) needs at least 1 GB of database capacity.

Therefore, at the moment, I cannot create another Dataverse environment.

The existing environment The Holistic Lab FZLLC (default) is the environment already connected to Business Central, and this is the environment I currently need to use.

My questions

Why does Dynamics 365 for Sales, Professional start installing and then disappear instead of becoming Installed?

  1. Is it technically possible to install Dynamics 365 Sales Professional on the existing The Holistic Lab FZLLC (default) environment?

  2. If it is possible, what exactly is preventing the installation, and where can I find the detailed installation error/log?

  3. Why does Dynamics 365 Field Service return:
“Installing Field Service on CDS instance is not supported”?

  4. Is there a specific configuration, license, security role, Dataverse setting, or prerequisite that must be completed before installing these applications?

  5. Since I currently cannot create another environment because the tenant requires 1 GB database capacity, what is the supported step-by-step solution for my situation?

I would appreciate a clear step-by-step troubleshooting procedure, specifically for the existing:

The Holistic Lab FZLLC (default)

environment.

Thank you.

    Hi @Rami Mazrawi  *

Yes, this the important point is that the environment name you gave is itself the blocker.

    1. Can Dynamics 365 Sales Professional be installed in The Holistic Lab FZLLC (default)?

No, not in the environment that is explicitly marked as the tenant's Default environment.

Microsoft's current Sales Professional installation FAQ explicitly says Sales Professional cannot be installed in a default environment. Other blockers are:

    • Environment is Dataverse-only
    • Environment is the Default environment
    • Dynamics 365 apps are disabled
    • Environment has no Dataverse database

    So if your environment is:

    The Holistic Lab FZLLC (default)

then the fact that the installation starts and subsequently disappears is consistent with Microsoft’s documented restriction. The installation UI may allow you to initiate the operation, but the environment eligibility check prevents the application from being provisioned successfully.

    2. What should you do?

Create/use a separate non-default Power Platform environment with:

    Requirement

    Required

    Environment

    Non-default

    Dataverse database

    Yes

    Enable Dynamics 365 apps

    Yes

    Environment state

    Ready

    Sales Professional license

    Appropriate license available

    Admin permissions

    Appropriate Power Platform/D365 admin

Microsoft's current installation documentation says Sales Professional can be installed in an existing Power Platform environment when Dynamics 365 apps are enabled. If you need to create one, create the environment with a database and enable Dynamics 365 apps during creation.

    For example:

    Microsoft 365 Tenant

           │

├── The Holistic Lab FZLLC (default)

│       └── ❌ Sales Professional cannot be installed

           │

           └── The Holistic Lab - D365 Sales

                   │

                   ├── Dataverse Database = Yes

                   ├── Dynamics 365 Apps = Yes

                   └── Sales Professional = ✅ Install

    3. Where can you see the actual installation error?

    Go to:

    Power Platform admin center

    Manage → Environments → select environment → Resources → Dynamics 365 apps

Then locate Dynamics 365 Sales Professional.

If the installation has actually entered a failed state, Microsoft documents that the status becomes Installation failed. Select the app and choose Details from the command bar. The error details page contains the information Microsoft Support needs for troubleshooting.

    The relevant navigation is:

    Power Platform Admin Center

            ↓

    Manage

            ↓

    Environments

            ↓

    The Holistic Lab FZLLC (default)

            ↓

    Resources

            ↓

    Dynamics 365 apps

            ↓

    Dynamics 365 Sales Professional

            ↓

    Details

            ↓

    Error details

The best ways you need to Teck care this issue as per the below steps :……

    How to troubleshoot it step-by-step

Before creating anything, capture these values from Power Platform admin center → Environments → your environment:

    1. Environment type
    2. Environment ID
    3. Region
    4. State — Ready/other
    5. Is Default
    6. Dataverse database present
    7. Dynamics 365 apps enabled
    8. Environment security group, if configured
    9. Dynamics 365 apps → Sales Professional status
    10. Details/Error details, if available

    The critical check is:

Was this environment originally created with a Dataverse database and “Enable Dynamics 365 apps = Yes”?

Microsoft's generic Dynamics 365 app documentation confirms that Dynamics 365 apps can only be installed/managed in environments created with a database and with Dynamics 365 apps enabled.

Keep the existing Default environment for its current BC–Dataverse integration if needed, resolve the tenant's 1 GB database-capacity shortage, create a new Dataverse environment with “Enable Dynamics 365 apps = Yes,” install Sales Professional/Field Service there, and then establish Business Central integration with that new Dynamics 365-enabled environment.
