Performance issues with Business Analyzer, SSRS and GP 2013

Posted on by 225

Anyone else having these issues and if so, were you able to resolve?

SSRS and BA taking up all the resources.

After some significant investigation we believe that the issues we’re experiencing related to performance are directly connected to certain reports loaded automatically by Business Analyzer. We have been able to isolate a number of reports that instantly cause the server to become maxed out – many of the reports provide no opportunity to apply any form of filter and therefore attempt to load the entire data set at once. Other reports that do not load the entire data set work as anticipated.

We have taken a number of steps to simulate the issue in an alternate SQL environment and have experienced the same issue.

How do you go about removing these deployed reports from GP 2013?

thank you for that info, we were just going to remove it altogether to see how much improvement was gained.

    yes

    Tracey,

The reports that are intended for the Business Analyzer don't require any parameters to be set.  They can run on default parameters.  If you have a large amount of data, they could certainly be slow for you.

If certain reports are causing performance issues, they can be removed or modified to better suit your needs.  Keep in mind that newer versions of GP will likely replace any changes you have made.

    Thanks

    Rob

Are you running SRSS and SQL on the same server?
