Here's the context : our HR team needs to be able to approve, refuse, cancel... any leave and absence requests regardless of hierarchy. At the moment, the team can only manage request if they are delegated to them after a week via an automated process.
Is it possible to have two approvers in the workflow ? And when a request is delegated to a new approver, does that mean the original approver loses the rights to approve the request ?

The answer to the first question is YES. IT's possible to have two approves, just innclude two steps. The second step would be the one that needs to be approved by HR.
I would suggest to use a User Group with HR users (where only 1 approval is needed from the group), and if needed, you can build this even with a different HR user group per organizational unit (depending on the hierarchy setup).
Regarding the second question (delegated): When you are using 'normal' approval to 1 person, delegating the approval will go the a different user. Meaning the person who delegated it will not be able to approve the request annymore.
