Changing current inventory counts from Item Properties screen?

Posted on by 80

This is my first time seeing MS RMS and the one of the managers here says he used to be able to change current inventory counts such as: "on hand, available, committed, on order, transfer out" via the the Inventory tab of the Items Properties window but now the inventory count numbers aren't changeable.

It seems to me that he's performed some action in the application that's locket those counts. Is that correct or is there some setting to allow this?

I've read on these forums that this can also be accomplished via the Inventory Wizard but he claims that he has to do pushes and it takes too long and is complicated.

I strongly suspect he doesn't really understand how the software works and how to use it correctly.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Mike,

As you said he probably hasn't been trained to use it well. It is not advisable to change inventory counts willy nilly. Login as rms administrator in store operations manager.

go to set security and then go to database items inventory.Press Ctrl +S ,choose his security level and make sure disable change is unticked.Press Ctrl +S.close store operations manager and reopen.

    Hello,

if you have manager rights with the credentials you log in, then you can check the ticks on what is allowed and reset them.

On Store Manager go Database > cashiers > Cashier no > properties and tick the properties you want to activate. If you find a number of cashiers the 9999 is the one supplied on installation. for this you have to look in your records for the password.

    Good Luck.

    Hi Mike,

out of the box RMS gives full access to the default User, only if any one has setup security for your manager login giving them no permission touch those area

Contact your RMS Partner or who ever did the initially setup of RMS and Cashier User, they can change security level to make it work
