I am trying to determine if the Fixed Asset clearing account is mandatory for integration from Payables management and Purchase Order Processing.

Ian is correct - it is mandatory for the integration to Payables. However, any account could be used as the Clearing account. So you could feasibly use a Fixed Asset Account for the clearing account and have the records clear into the same account, I think. I've never tested that but I'm thinking it would work.

Yes - it is I believe. It is what triggers GP to put the details in the FA module.
