Management Reporter 2012- Export to .XPS error

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello,

We have been playing with the new MR2012 and all of the new features. We noticed that when exporting a report to a .XPS format, it exports to the XPS viewer just fine when we only want the "current view", " current reporting unit", or if we choose "selected reporting units" and then only select one. However, when we choose to select multiple reporting units or "all reporting units" it tries to export and then gives an error instead that says "There was a problem exporting the report. Error: Sequence contains more than one matching element".

Is this an issue anyone else is having or has insight on?

Thanks!

OK.  My fix was removing boxes from my report.  I was using boxes in the row format and removal of the boxes allowed me to export to XPS without error!  I hope this helps someone else as well!

I'm having the same issue no matter what I'm exporting.  Currently I am trying to export a single report with only one reporting unit and getting this error.

    Hello,

I just tested this on my version of Management Reporter 2012 and didn't have any issues with this.  I would suggest contacting support.  However, here area a few things that may help you troubleshoot the issue:  What version of windows are you on?  The XPS viewer is installed by default on Windows 7, but not on previous version (it's a download).  If you are not running Windows 7 you may want to try to export from a Windows 7 client. Are you running in a citrix environment? If you are, you may want to try from a stand alone client.   How many levels is the tree that you are attempting to export?  You may want to try to export a report that has a smaller tree to see if this is a time out issue?  Are you choosing to export comments as well?  If you are, you may want to try without the comments.  I should note that exporting with comments worked fine for me, but just another area to help narrow down a potential issues?  Also, can you export the report to Excel by selecting the entire tree?  This may help narrow down if this is an issue with MR vs. XPS.
