Dynamic report content

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

trying to find the template header for "salesshipment" and it is not there so i can choose... how to get it back... before we could not copy it and I got Abikion to fix the issue and still they have not come back with a solution, but now hey lost the total template...  very strange this has happened and wondering how?

Does anyone know how i can find it and if so where to find it and how...

All I want to do is have a copy of it so we can make it the way we need it to be.. Or is there anotherway i can make from scratch the template for  "salesshipment"

    Hi,

no, techie-chinese ;) Sorry for this. DevEnv = NAV Development Environment, NST = NAV Service Tier. The developers use the Development Environment. The Service Tier is a technical component (a service) to make the whole thing fly. It is possible that you don't have access to these.

From your screenshots I assume that you're testing in a demo environment. It may be an option to run Dynamic Reports setup again, but I can't guarantee for this to work. It could also fry your DR setup entirely, so please be careful. When in doubt, abakion is the way to go, as Jonathan already suggested.

    Hi Kulbinder,

no, not the columns in the "UX" pages. You need the data behind it, which is in the setup tables of Dynamic Reports. The most common ones are marked in the screenshot. You open these directly in the DevEnv, mark the lines you want to copy, ensure they're not there in the target, copy and paste them.

You need to have two DevEnvs (and NSTs) running to do this, tough. Not very user friendly, but at least it works.

    RE: Dynamic report content

    Hi,

ClausL from abakion should know ;) However, I just took a look in my Dynamic Reports Demo. The template report 6082704 is not present in mine, the last one is 6082703. However, the definitions you're using for header section, body, footer are configurable, you can copy thm from the other sections. To get the original setup back, you can build up a separate demo database and run "Dynamic Reports Setup" (from the Dynamic Reports Layouts page, actions) in there. I would recommend to do this as a reference on how the setup of DR was intended (not everything there is self-explanatory). And the copy/paste on the setup table between databases should work. :)

    RE: Dynamic report content

    hi,

same as the "document capture" software is the "dynamic reports" - from danish company abikion/supply chain box - an add-on for dynamics nav. it's not part of standard nav. i think it's not very common.

so you will get best support from abikion.

    abikion: http://abakion.com/

    dyn. reports page: supplychainbox.com/.../dynamic_reports.aspx

    support: supplychainbox.com/.../costingnbi-qa.aspx

please, for further postings: describe which tool/add-on you mean, who is the vendor/manufacturing company, etc. it's hard to find out whats the problem and find a solution without that infos. you would get faster and better support by this forum.

    best regards
