Virtualizing GP 2013 using VMWare Conversion Tool

Client is planning on Virtualizing their GP 2013 using the VMWare Conversion tool THIS AFTERNOON. They want to know of any possible pitfalls or things to look for.

    not quite the place to look for emergency assistance...

    Short answer : YES, it might work..

    Long answer: it depends on what is configured on the legacy system (HW, SW, etc..)..

    Personally, I'd not go this route, but rather build a brand new server from scratch and move the GP instance to the new server.. however, this is much longer approach and requires some technical skills and most important, TEST, TEST, TEST.. .

    On the long term, this is a more efficient approach .

    Give the P2V conversion tool a shot, you might be lucky and get away with no issues..  Be aware that you can't have the same system name running on the same network, as you're going to run into conflicts. Also, if the server is part of ta domain, it may be required to re-insert the machine name into the domain.
