I can see that SQL2014 was certified in August, 2014. Client is pushing to put SQL2014 SP1 on before we install NAV 2015.

You can run NAV 2015 with SQL2014SP1 without any problem!
In MSDN article for system requirements, SQL 2014 is mentioned under minimum requirements for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015, however Microsoft has not update the MSDN article with the 2014 SP 01.
I think you can go ahead with the latest service pack without worrying much. If you are planning to install any version below Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015 version, please be more careful.
Hi Dan,
On the system requirements MSDN article
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd301054(v=nav.80).aspx
there is a section for SQL, listing minimum requirements. (" Minimum means that later versions (such as SP1, SP2, or R2 versions) of a required software product are also supported")
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd301054(v=nav.80).aspx#SQLReq
Hi,
I don't know whether it's certified, but I am using SQL 2014 with NAV 2015 without any issue so far.
