How Can I Adjust the "Name" & "Address" fields on a GP Check?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi all, not sure if my question is completely clear.

When we print checks from GP, some of the fields on the actual check don't align up exactly right. They're just a tad off - and we've never edited any form/report. How would i go about moving these fields on the check?

Any ideas?

Hi, Sometimes this might happen due to change or incorrect printer driver from previous versions. Please check whether any changes happened on this.

    Kimberly,

The easiest way to do this is to print the check to screen and then click the modify button in order to bring up the report in report writer (ideally this should be done with no users in the system to prevent accidental corruptions to your report dictionary). It might be over cautious but I generally will export all modified reports to a package file before I start customization just in case.

Also in my experience trying to properly align fields visually in report writer is a waste of time. When you click on an object you should see the relative X and Y coordinates on the right side of your screen. Use this positioning info for the layout.

    Regards,

    Kirk
