New Query error in Business Portal

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

When creating a new Employee query in the Business Portal, we are seeing this below error message. This .dll does not exist in this location. Could anyone help on where to get it from or how to stop displaying the error? Thanks

Microsoft.BusinessFramework.Data.EntityMapNotFoundException

Unable to load map assembly 'C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\80\bin\map\IntegrityData.BSS.Entity.BSSBenefitSelectionView.resources.dll'.

You may actually be running into a known issue with BSS 2010 if you modify or create a query.

The Repro steps mentioned are when we click on Payroll > Queries > New Query, then choose BSS Employee Rule and options such as:

    BSSEligibilityRule

    BSSEligibility Rule Eligibility ID

    BSSEmployeeEnrollment

    Eligibility ID

    Employee (Employee Restricted Proxy Timecard)

    employee restricted

    or employee back office user

Several of these options will give us the error regarding the BSSBenefitSelectionView.resources.dll file / unable to load map assembly.

At this point, it is not scheduled to be fixed by GP Development for Business Portal 5.x/ Dynamics GP 2010.

I'm not sure if this is an issue in Business Portal 6 for Dynamics GP 2013, but I looked on my system and when I clicked on 'New Query' on the Payroll Center > Queries page, then chose the 'BSSEmployeeRule' data permission, I then selected the columns mentioned above and I was able to select the first 4 in the list above, but when I tried expanding the 'Employee (Employee-Restricted Proxy (Timecard Entry))', I got this same error message.

After the error, it did expand and I could select columns, but I got this error for a number of items I expanded, in each case I could select the columns after the error.

Once I created the query, it seemed to work and didn't give me any errors, so it looks like it may still be an issue within Business Portal 6 for Dynamics GP 2013 as well.

    Thanks,

After digging around some more, does anyone thing this could be related to an issue with Web Services?

It seems like other portal issues get linked back to setup with Web Services. I know I didn't spend much time with that setup during our upgrade to GP2013, so it's possible something is missed.

Is there a recommended setup for Web Services with the Portal?

Yes, by pressing F12 and changing Broswer Mode to each of the selected options. No, it did not prompt for that, but I already have the Microsoft Business Portal ActiveX installed on my machine.

Again, I don't feel this is a broswer issue, but instead a Business Portal issue.

How did you changed the browser mode in IE by pressing F12 if so did it ask for installing activeX or cab files.

I tried all browser modes available on two PCs. No changes, still got the same original errors posted

have you tried to change the browser mode to IE 8 32 bit and tried this.

We tried clearing the broswer settings on three computers without any change in the error.

As this happens on every computer I use, I don't think it would be changes to a browser that fix the issue.

Researching the EntityMapNotFoundException message through our case history, we only have around 5 or so cases that even mention this and of those, many of them are mentioning cached pages and also the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security potentially causing issues.

Verify if 'Every visit to the page' is marked under Tools | Internet Options | General tab | Temporary Internet files section | Settings button.

Also please have the users clear all temp and history files in Internet Explorer and then open a new browser.

    Thanks

That's unfortunate news, as I stated in the original post, we have been seeing different computers getting different errors. I see the same thing as you described when we get the load map assembly error.

Howerver, some get a script error (Microsoft.BusinessFramework.Data.EntityMapNotFoundException). This one does not allow them to continue on, and the wizard just spins. I was hoping there would have been a resolution for those user's sake.

How did you discover it was not being worked on for 5.x? Is there a place I share my wanting of this being resolved as well?
