Target Entity on Post Operation

Hi All,

My understanding is that Target entity can only be updated during Pre-Operation without the need to call the update operation. We had a Post Operation plugin where we merge the post image to the target entity, but what happens is, the merged data to the target entity was considered as 'dirty' fields, thus, triggers an update on the target.

Does target also updates during Post Operation?

Hi,

It does not update without service.Update in post operation plugin.

What you mean by Merge the post image to target entity?

I think you need to clarify more. As per my understanding, you are looking for depth. For more information: IExecutionContext.Depth Property (Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk) | Microsoft Learn. This will help you to stop the behaviour.
