I need to have the Account number field dynamically added to the account number field based upon the customer I add on the new case form.  How can this be done?

Thanks Lynne

    Are you asking to have an account number field - on the case entity - added to the case record when you add an account to the case?

    You could do a real time workflow - on create of case or on update of Customer (or if you have an account lookup) - then check if Customer (account) - Account contains data (this avoids if its a contact).  Set the value of the account number to the case.

    Field mapping is an option as well, via the 1 to many relationship.

    If Im way off with what the ask is, please put some screenshots in and Ill take another look.

    Yes, you understand what I am needing.  I tried mapping and cannot get it to work, but will look to create a workflow instead.

    Thanks

    I second the use of the Field Mapping.  You can find the documentation here. docs.microsoft.com/.../map-entity-fields

    Hi LMata,

    If you want to add just for viewing (You cannot report), you can create a quick view screen. If you want to report this number in case entity, you have to create a workflow. You can follow hot to create it below;

    1 . Create Workflow

    2. Create Rule

    3. Update Record

    4. Please select "Record Fields Change"

    Thats Ok. When you creating a case or updating the customer in the case, the customer number will be updated in the Case record.
    Hope it helps :)
    Regards.
