How to create a true test environment for Dynamics GP 2018?

So, I stressed myself out messing up in Dynamics(live production) and the only solution was to pull a backup. Macys My Insite

So, 2 questions?

1.) Is there a way to have a true test environment? We do have one that is labeled test, but when I edited 1 report, it edited the 'test' one and the 'live' production one across the board. Even then, the test one is blank and not like a copy of the production one.

2.) Supervisor(who knows nothing of Great Plains) states we should have separate login and not all use the same 'sa' login. Is this possible?

You can start with these guidelines. You can create a test company or a completely new test environment. Using a completely different set of credentials is a good idea to keep them separate.
