HQ implementation : database

Posted on by 45

I have two stores that have its own databases with over 150,000 items. Some of these items have different item descriptions, supplier,  category, and etc..

I am about to implement HQ but would like to know if the HQ sync function can detect the differences in the items and automatically sync the information from one database to another?

I could keep duplicate the database from one store to the other so they match but I don't want to lose years sales history.  Thank you!

You should be able to save the sales history for the larger store

    Try this --

    1. Larger store - Add all items / suppliers / dept. / category etc for both stores in the larger store.

    2. Make HQ database from larger store database

    3. Sync. HQ and existing larger store.

    4. Create new smaller store database from HQ.

    5. Sync small store and HQ.

    Dear Sir,

    Thank you for you reply.

In that case, I will use the database of the larger store of the two as the master database. By doing so, I will be able to keep the sales history of the larger store. But I will lose sales history of the smaller store. Is this the right assumption or is there a way to save the sales history?

    Thank you again.

The answer is no. HQ will not automatically detect the differences in the items.

You may want to make a single master database of all items/depts./categories in both the stores and create HQ database. Than you can try to sync each store with HQ.

Take a backup and test the above before going live.

RMS HQ needs more learning than Store Operations.
