HR Warning when applying Employee Class Code

Posted on by 1,330

In a Dynamics GP 10 environment with Payroll and Human Resources Management when adding new employees and setting a class code I am prompted to apply settings from the class to the employee, I select yes. Then I am prompted with a warning: “Human Resources is registered; please make changes in Human Resources. If you save these changes in Payroll, Human Resources will not be updated. Do you want to continue?”

If I select yes then everything is fine, all of my class defaults are set and the employee is assigned the correct pay codes. However if I select no, then class defaults are not set. Changing the class code again will not apply defaults from the class correctly, I have to enter all of the information manually or delete and recreate the employee.

This happens when suing the Employee Maintenance window accesses from any of:

Cards >> Payroll >> Employee
Cards >> Human Resources >> Employee >> Employee

I believe the issue is related to https://mbs2.microsoft.com/Knowledgebase/kbdisplay.aspx?wtntzsmnwukntmmyvtquuxnnzoukyppplzmzqqxrxlqrvolp and https://community.dynamics.com/product/gp/f/32/p/51712/92955.aspx#92955

Has anyone else experienced this and is there anything I can do to remove the prompt?

Thank you for the input. We contacted Microsoft and verified that this is a bug that has something to do with the goto menu. I believe the work around was to close the window after you click on the goto/ avoid using the goto on that card.

Frank,  I just got onto the community.  Yes, we have this same issue...  We have also found that if your using the goto button in the employee maintenance screen the assignments don't roll down.  I believe this is a bug in GP10.  We have found that if you delete the employee class, save the record, reopen the record and put the class in again it will roll down if you answer the questions properly.
