How to make new purchase order on hold as default

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Dear all GP experts,

In GP's purchase order processing, is there a way to automatically put hold in each new purchase order from printing after the user creates and then saves the purchase order? Or is there a way to prevent to release the purchase order until more than one managers approve the purchase order?

Thank you

Colin

This is really nit picking, but the PO won't be released when you print it if there is not a released line item on it. I've run into it before, so just make a note in the back of your mind somewhere.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Hi Colin,

Like Babu, I would suggest to use the new built-in purchase requisition workflow in GP2015..

If you can't (or don't want to), the other way would be to put some triggers in place.. every time a new PO is created in the system, the status would be changed to 'hold' instead of 'new'.. A PO only becomes 'released' once it has been printed at least 1 time in GP.

You could do this with the help of the GPPT (GP PowerTools) and setup an automatic non-logging trigger.

    Hi,

If you are using GP Requisition/Purchase order processing workflow then until the PO approved GP wont allow to print the same.
