We use field service, service calls (parts screen) to allocate all of our equipment. In the example below, what would be the proper system procedure to fix the issue:
Service call 999999 is created to request an allocation for item 5200156 (water heater) at location 123 Any Street, Customer number 1234567. Serial number A5332840 is allocated to the call when the equipment leaves the warehouse with the contractor. The contractor also leaves with serial number A8888888 as it is for another job at 456 Any Street (we have created another call for this).
The appliance is sold and call 9999999 is closed. We find out at time of inspection that the contractor actually installed serial number A8888888 at 123 Any Street. How do we fix this properly in the system so that the allocation and equipment cards actually match up correctly?
