Dear AX forum users.
I hope someone can help me with the following case:
- Unsorted and dirty material is purchased and delivered.
- Upon arrival, the material is given a batch-number + for every delivery the supplier is identified.
- For every batch a production order is made to convert unsorted and dirty material -> sorted and cleaned products.
- I.e. we have one input material and multiple output products.
- Outputs are products in fraction 1-6mm, 6-12mm, and several types of minerals.
- Sorted and cleaned products are stored and sold in lots.
- There can be multiple batches in one lot.
- Batches can be sold in multiple lots.
At the moment we have lots of item numbers in AX. I.e. one product for every supplier and fraction. Furthermore, we assign a batch number in the name/description of every production order. This gives me no analysis options, as I cannot automatically match a batch-number to a lot which is sold. Furthermore, all those different item numbers could be reduced in my opinion, because the products are all physically the same, and only some characteristics (supplier, fraction) are different.
What options do I have for batch-tracking? I want to manually assign a batch-number to a production order. Later on, I need to know what batches are sold in which lots.
Can I give my items custom attributes such as supplier-name and fraction in mm?
Hope someone can help me out.
Kind regards,
Kevin
