Posted on by 20

We need a detailed report by Sales Rep that includes the following parameters:

Price Level A

Price Level B

Price Level C

Retail Price

by Specific Customer

with Customizeable Date Ranges

How do we make a custom report? Thanks!

    Hey Pete,

Firstly which version of CRM are you using? None the less, for both versions (3.0 and 4.0), you can start off by writing a TSQL script to extract the data required for the report from the MSCRM DB. Use filtered views as these are easier to understand. After you are happy with the resultant, create a Report Server project using the SQL Reporting Services (Business Intelligence Suite). Simply add a datasource pointing to the CRM database and add the SQL Script to the data set. Create parameters by using the variable '@parametername' within the script which the report server automatically picks up as parameters. You can edit these parameters by clicking on 'Report' on the the toolbar and select Report parameters from the drop down. A list of Report parameters with its properties will be displayed. To create reports, either use a wizard or do a custom one in which you may have to drag and drop fields on the form and use grouping to get the correct format.      Hope above is of help.

    Good luck,

    Visha...
