Hey guys,

Can you help me understand how marking between production and sales orders are made and what are the use cases for them.

Thanks a lot in advance.

    Hi,

Use case is about the costing. Once you mark, the cost of the Production order will be matched with specific sales order.

The fundamental reason for marking is to capture costs of the specific production order as COGS for that sales order.  However, I also see clients using this functionality to tie delivery dates on the SO line to the scheduled finish date on the production order and just a general knowledge that SO line 1 is supplied by Prod Order 123.
