Can I debug the JS library "/_static/SFA/quotes/quote.js"?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hey guys

I have a problem with the Revise-Button on the entity quote. Normally when I click this button on an activated quote, the status reason will be set on "Revised", the quote will be closed and a new quote will be generated.

But since a few days, the button sets the status reason "No need" and I don't know why.

In the Ribbon Workbench can you see, that the button is calling the following function:

2017_2D00_06_2D00_26_5F00_11_2D00_27_2D00_24.png

Unfortunately, I can't find this web resource in the CRM. I don't know what's this for...

Do you know something about this file or do you know if I can debug this file?

Thanks for your help.

Best regards,

Dominik

    I found the problem:

It looks like somebody has edited the standard-value of the field "statusreason". The button is just setting the standard statusreason of the status "Closed".

But also thanks for your help. It's great how the people on this forum help to other people!

    Hi!

Usually CRM is installed on IIS Server. Have a look where Your CRM is installed and you'll have an opportunity to find the file there.

    Hope this helps

    Hi,

You could debug this file. Go to the quote form. Press F12. Debugger Tools window opens.

You could search for the quote.js file and open the file in Debugger Tools.

When the file opens, you could put debugger points and debug the script.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Vlad

Can you explain me how I can find this file? What do you mean with "file system"?

I'm on the CRM Server, but I don't know where I have to search...

Sorry, I'm not an expert in this topic :(

    Greets, Dominik

    Hi!

Go under RDP on server, where CRM is installed. Find this file in the file system and add debugger on the specified path where it is needed. That's should be all. You'll have an opportunity to debug this file in the browser.

    Hope this helps

Is it possible that someone renamed the status reason to "No need"? Because the default values don't have this one:

    technet.microsoft.com/.../dn531157.aspx

If you required the status reason "No need" as an extra status reason then you should add a new one instead of renaming the original if this was the reason.

    Thanks :)

Unfortunately, I can't find the file in the Debugger. I think the file is only behind this button and I can only find the files which are placed on load.

Do you know another way how I can find the file so that I can look what's written there?

You can debug any JS file directly in a browser.

    Press F12 -> Debugger.

Choose your file (on a page, where it use) Add breakpoint on a called function. And press your button.

You will appear at Breakpoint, you placed.
