Purchasing Remove Transaction History

Posted on by

Hello There,

I ran Tools-Utilities-Purchasing-Remove Transactions History for one creditor.  But its just hangs and still shows on process monitor.  I am not able to close it since its says still under process.  How can I close this now can anyone help on this. GP Version 2013

Thanks,

Babu

    Yes,

since the historical transactions are still there, then the remove process was interrupted for some reason.

Run the historical transaction removal for the selected vendor and ensure in parallel on the SQL profiler that scripts are running.

    Hi Mahmoud,

I cant see any thing running in SQL profiler.  I have suspend the process on the process monitor on yesterday, so I gone ahead and closed through task manager. I logged back and  I checked the historical transactions and I can view them all, is that mean the job didn't run and all transactions still there.  Can you please explain.

    Thanks,

    Babu

It is also possible that someone is sitting on a record that needs to be deleted. It will hand there and wait until the user is done. I would wait until the end of the day and after everyone has exited GP. Then go into SQL Profiler and see if any deletion activity is occurring.

Mahmoud is correct. If you have huge number of transactions, it will take more hours to complete the process.

    Babu,

How many hours have you waited for the process ? In case you have a huge amount of transactions, you may expect several hours to run.

In order to guarantee that you are on the safe side, run SQL profiler in order to check whether any processes are running or not. In case you have nothing running, close the Dynamics GP from the task manager and re-run the process.

One more thing to consider, are you aware of the "remove transactions after effects" ? Several tables will be cleared out.
