Sales tax codes - How to suspend the possibility of using a sales tax code

Posted on by 55

Hi everyone,

After Tax changes, some sales tax codes previously set-up and applied may no longer be used.

Is there an option similar to the "suspended" field in the main account set-up, that allow us to prevent all postings to the selected tax code? I know that we can remove the included sales tax groups but that's not what we want to do.

Thank you

BR

    Hello Camilla

Best practice to use the From date and to date available on the sales tax value screen to stop the calculation of the sales tax. Because in the future there can be a possibility to use the same tax code, and simply what you can do is, you can enter the new start date and the system will start to calculate the tax.

Following is the screenshot to guide you where you have to put the from date and date. you access this screen through Tax > Indirect taxes > sales tax > sales tax code > sales tax code action pane > value

If this solves your problem then mark the question as complete, so the other facing the same issue can know, what can be the possible solution.

    Thanks

    Faisal

    Hi,

You do have any option to suspend the sales tax code or delete the sales tax code which are already in use during posting.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

You can detach the tax code from the sales tax group and Item sales tax group as you already mentioned.

Other option, you can add the from date and to date to past date, it will not calculate the amount.

Note sure, why the first option wont be considered here as that is the best option.

I dont see any other options than these.
