Trouble with picks using production families

We want to cut a single sheet of a material that outputs two separate items. We have BOMs for both of the items with the same sheet of material on each. "Item 1" has a qty per of 0.5 pcs and "Item 2" has a qty per of 1/6 to make three of that item out of the second half of the sheet. We created a family for these two items (Item 1 with a qty of 1 and Item 2 with a qty of 3) and created a production order for these with the source being the family. When we go to pick, it wants to pick 1 whole sheet for each line on the production order rather than picking 1 sheet for the entire production order. I really can't figure out how to make this work the way that the documentation describes.

Thank you for posting on the Forum.

We will have to see if any other partners or customers have implemented the configuration provided previously. Our Microsoft Support case history does not have any cases with this level of detailed implementation guidance.

The key setup may be tied to the Location Card configuration for Warehouse Tab, Bin Tab, and Bin Policies.Does the Location have Directed Put-away & Pick enabled? The initial concern being that if you do not have Directed Put-away and Pick enabled, then multiple Units of Measure will not be handled completely in the Warehouse Pick process.
